The Hygiene Hypothesis in Asthma: The Scientific Evidence
William J. Calhoun, MD, PACP, PCCP, FAAAAI, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Sealy and Smith Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Chief: Pulmonary, Allergy, and CCM, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston
This presentation will help to explain the role early life exposures to microbial products plays in the development of acquired immunity. Participants will gain an understanding of the biological implications of immune development on asthma and atopic diseases. Dr. Calhoun is boarded in both Allergy and Pulmonology, providing a unique perspective to his educational lectures on respiratory diseases.
