Become a Leader in Chicago's Fight Against Asthma!

Nominations are now being accepted for the CAC Board of Directors.

The CAC is making enormous strides in its effort to improve the quality of life for Chicagoans living with asthma. Now is the time for all of you who want to play a major role in the decision-making of the CAC to have your voices heard. Your input is needed to help the CAC continue to meet the growing needs of the asthma stakeholders in Chicago. We need your help to build our programs, develop our services, involve more people in our coalition, and raise the funds necessary to support our efforts.

To be considered for a Board position, please submit the material requested below by December 1, 2007. Following receipt of the required information, the CAC Nominating Committee will select the top candidates for interviews. The finalists will be voted upon by the general membership at the 2008 Annual Meeting.

Chicago Asthma Consortium Board of Directors Nominations (2008)

The Chicago Asthma Consortium (CAC) is seeking nominations for its Board of Directors for the 2008 to 2011 term. The CAC is seeking a diverse group of dynamic leaders reflective of the greater asthma community.

Directors are expected to wholeheartedly support the Chicago Asthma Consortium in the pursuit of its mission to improve the quality of life for people with asthma through information sharing, networking and advocacy; and be willing to perform the following tasks:

  • Provide governance to the organization, participate in policy-making, and represent the CAC to the community;
  • Monitor activities of the Executive Director in carrying out program goals and priorities;
  • Play a pro-active role in the CAC’s fundraising efforts;
  • Assist the CAC by exercising personal and professional contacts whenever possible; and,
  • Accept leadership positions, as appropriate.
Board members should bring a high level of interest in the CAC mission, access to community and financial resources, and a history of participation in asthma-related activities. Prior involvement in the CAC will be considered. No previous board experience is required.
