The Chicagoland Asthma Network (formerly the Community Task Force) works with the community to identify informational needs and bring up-to-date information about asthma diagnosis, care, and treatment to the community by staffing booths at neighborhood fairs, speaking at schools and professional meetings, and serving on governmental committees.

The Data Task Force identifies and makes available to the community asthma data necessary to implement innovative asthma educational activities, provides networking opportunities for professionals interested in community asthma research, coordinates an annual Data Workshop, and maintains the Chicagoland Resource Directory website.

The Professional Development Task Force brings asthma resources to both professionals and the community by promoting an asthma speakers bureau; offering problem-based learning programs; leading programs for school teachers and nurses; and reviewing and critiquing printed, audio, and videotaped materials.

The School Task Force collaborates with schools across Chicago to identify and develop innovative programs to improve the health of students with asthma. Programs include implementing new medication policies; educating school nurses, staff, and administrators about asthma; assuring that asthma policies are current; distributing CAC Medication Brochures to the families of children with asthma; and implementing improved environmental controls in the schools.
